Carriers Of Divine Wisdom

And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord (Luke 1:17).

The Word declares that John the Baptist came in the spirit and power of Elijah to prepare the way of the Lord. But observe the specifics of what his mission entailed: to turn the disobedient to the wisdom of the just. This is a profound spiritual reality. It tells us that there’s a wisdom that belongs to us, the just. It’s the wisdom that prepares men to walk with the Lord and to please Him. It’s the wisdom that discerns purpose, sees beyond natural sequences, and acts in line with God’s Word and divine destiny. This wisdom isn’t academic; it’s not about mental alertness or philosophical depth. It’s a spiritual virtue imparted by God’s Spirit. When the disobedient are turned to the wisdom of the just, they receive the knowledge and guidance that aligns them with God’s will and purpose. So, like John, we have a unique calling. We’ve been commissioned by God to turn the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous. It’s what we do when we preach the Gospel and lead men to Christ. It’s this wisdom that draws men into repentance, reshapes their priorities and brings them into sync with the agenda of Heaven. That’s what the Spirit of God is doing through us today; He’s turning men from darkness to light, from confusion to clarity, and from rebellion to reverence and obedience. We’re carriers of divine wisdom, the wisdom that makes ready for the Lord a people prepared for Him. This wisdom dominates our thoughts, guides our choices and propels our actions

CONFESSION: Dear Father, I thank you for the ministry of your Spirit in me and the manifestation of your wisdom through me in turning the disobedient from darkness to light, making them ready for Christ’s coming. Your wisdom dominates my thoughts, guides my choices, and propels my actions in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
