PROCLAIMING THE LORDSHIP OF JESUS

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved (Romans 10:9).

The proclamation of the lordship of Jesus is what brings you into salvation. There’re those who believe in their hearts that Jesus died and that God raised Him from the dead, but they have never actively proclaimed His lordship over their lives. Therefore, the salvation that Jesus brought is not activated in their lives.

The Bible way to receive salvation is clearly stated for us in the Scriptures: “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:8-10).

You believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and confess His lordship over your life; that’s what catapults you into salvation. Believing alone isn't enough. In fact, the Apostle James, while addressing the importance of genuine faith, especially in how it is demonstrated through actions, tells us, “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble” (James 2:19).

So, you've got to activate what you believe. It's the confession of the lordship of Jesus that makes salvation real. This explains why some people, though they believe in Jesus, are not born again. Without that confession, they could go to hell. So, in your evangelical work and outreaches, emphasize this, especially in these last days. It’s the declaration of the lordship of Jesus that breaks Satan’s grip over people’s lives and brings them out of darkness into the Kingdom of God’s Love-Son.

PRAYER: Dear Father, I thank you for the power of your Word and the revelation of salvation through the lordship of Jesus Christ. Jesus is Lord over my life, and I’m in His glorious Kingdom, where I reign in righteousness and victory forever, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
